“The Natural Philosophy of Zhu Xi” by Cage Yamada is an original study book that sheds new light on “Zhu Xi (1130-1200), a Confucian scholar in the era of Liu Song Dynasty and a compilation of Neo-Confucianism, as an Eastern “scientific thinker” who tried to reasonably explain “natural phenomena” and all things in the universe, not just a moral philosopher. The author extracts discussions on “The Natural Philosophy,” or physics, astronomy, and geography, from Zhu Xi’s vast writings, and deeply analyzes the scientific rationality of Zhu Xi’s thinking from a modern point of view.

‘성동호(成東鎬)’ 역의 ‘한비자(韓非子)’는 중국 춘추전국시대 말기의 ‘법가(法家)’를 집대성한 ‘한비(韓非, 기원전 280?~233?)’의 사상을 담은 저서입니다. 이 책은 난세(亂世)를 극복하고 국가를 부강하게 만들기 위한 군주론과 통치술에 관한 철학을 제시하며, 후대 동양 정치 사상에 지대한 영향을 미쳤습니다.

Han Fei Tzu, who plays the role of Sung Dong-ho, is a book about Han Fei’s thoughts, which compiled legal families in the late Spring and Autumn Warring States Period in China (280 B.C. – 233 B.C.). The book presents the philosophy of monarchism and governance to overcome difficulties and make the country rich and powerful, and it had a profound influence on later Eastern political thought.
