Professor Kwon Oh-seok’s “Chang tzu Outer Book” is a translation and explanation of the contents of “Outer Book (8-22)”, which is considered the second most important after the Inner Book (1-7), out of the 33 pieces of “Chang tzu”, a core scripture of the “Taoism” ideology. “Chang tzu” consists of “Inner Book” written by Zhangzi himself, “Outer Book” written by disciples and juniors, and “Scattered Book” written by inheriting Zhangzi’s thoughts. Professor Han Yong-deuk’s “Chuang-tzu Inner Book” is the most essential of the 33 major scriptures of “Zhuangzi,” one of the major scriptures of “Taoism,” and is a book that deals with the first seven (in my book) episodes that are considered to contain the purest of Zhuangzi’s own thoughts. The plot of the book is to show the process of moving toward the ultimate “absolute freedom and mental liberation” presented by “Zhuangzi” through extraordinary and satirical fables.

The plot of this book focuses on reinterpreting the difficult principles of “Eight Diagrams” and Ttrigram from the Book of Changes as a philosophy book that understands and copes with changes in life, not just a fortune-telling book.
